Reminder: Director ID Compliance

• Recent Convictions: On May 3, 2024, two directors were fined $5,000 each in Perth Magistrates Court.

• Legal Requirement: All directors must have a director ID. Non-compliance can result in fines up to $18,780.

• Purpose: The director ID service aims to prevent the use of false or fraudulent identities in business.
  

Meeting your obligations:

• Know your obligations: If you’re not sure, contact our office we can help you determine what is needed

• Verify and Apply: Directors must verify their identity with the Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS) and apply for their director ID before appointment.

• Application Methods:

• Online: Apply quickly at ABRS.gov.au.

• By Phone: Call ABRS on 13 62 50 if online application isn't possible.
